Job Overview
This is a 100% remote opportunity, offering the flexibility to work from home. The required hours of work are 11pm – 7am CST, and we are looking for someone who is highly self-motivated, excels at multitasking, and is comfortable working in a demanding, state-of-the-art trading environment. As a DevOps Engineer, you will work closely with engineers, traders, and quants to drive success and ensure the seamless operation of our trading infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Own technical issues when they arise, either seeing them through to completion or handing off to the proper escalation/support path.
- Build and enhance operational dashboards, comprising all critical and non-critical path datasets; effectively interpret existing data and create new metadata to identify inefficiencies of the entire trading lifecycle.
- Build and maintain scripted toolsets to enhance areas of data analytics, application configuration/deployment, data consolidation, and all other areas that could exploit automation where not already implemented.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the smooth operation of our trading infrastructure and identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement automated solutions to improve efficiency, reduce downtime, and enhance overall system reliability.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from a 4-year university in a technical area such as computer science or engineering.
- Financial domain knowledge required, with a strong understanding of the trading industry and its technical complexities.
- Proficiency in object-oriented scripting languages such as Python, with experience in developing automated solutions.
- A self-motivated personality with a passion for solving complex problems and a strong desire to learn and grow.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in Linux, with experience in managing and troubleshooting Linux-based systems.
