About the Job
We are seeking an experienced Distributed Systems Engineer to join our Data Platform team at arenaflex. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in advancing and evolving our infrastructure to support our ambitious goal of reaching 500 million people worldwide. You will be responsible for designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems that enable our business to make data-driven decisions and drive growth. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and operate large-scale distributed systems that support our data platform and enable business growth
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product management, and technical program management, to drive technical initiatives and solve complex problems
- Develop and maintain scalable, fault-tolerant, and highly available distributed systems that meet the needs of our business and customers
- Contribute to the development of open-source technologies and participate in industry-wide discussions and forums
- Work closely with our data infrastructure teams to design and implement data pipelines, data warehousing, and data analytics solutions
- Participate in on-call rotations and ensure the reliability and uptime of our distributed systems
Essential Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in building large-scale distributed systems or applications
- Strong proficiency in the design and development of RESTful web services
- Experience in building and operating scalable, fault-tolerant, and highly available distributed systems
- Proficiency in Java or other object-oriented programming languages
- Strong understanding of multi-threading and concurrency
- BS in Computer Science or a related field
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud computing platforms, such as AWS or GCP
- Knowledge of containerization technologies, such as Docker or Kubernetes
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies and version control systems, such as Git
- Experience with data infrastructure technologies, such as Hadoop, Spark, or NoSQL databases
- Strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and data analytics
