About the Role
As an HD Pharmacy Technician, you'll be responsible for a wide range of activities that are critical to our pharmacy operations. You'll work closely with our team to process prescription requests, manage orders, and provide top-notch customer service. Your expertise and attention to detail will help ensure that our members receive the care and support they need, when they need it.
Primary Responsibilities
- Process prescription requests, including entry, billing, and submittal of customer orders to fulfillment for delivery
- Assist with operations support, training, and process improvements to drive efficiency and excellence
- Contribute to updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and team content to ensure best practices
- Create and route pharmacy orders through receipt, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Handle inbound and outbound member/patient calls, providing exceptional customer service and support
- Prepare and scan documents, verify member/patient data, and submit prescription orders in our computer system
- Contact members/patients/providers to validate data, request payment information, and establish priority of order or delivery details as needed
- Apply knowledge and skills to a range of moderately complex activities, demonstrating great depth of understanding in your function
- Act as a technical resource to others in your function, providing guidance and support as needed
- Proactively identify solutions to non-standard requests, solving moderately complex problems on your own
- Collaborate with the team to solve complex problems, sharing your expertise and insights
- Plan, prioritize, organize, and complete work to meet established objectives, ensuring a high level of productivity and quality
- Provide an exceptional customer experience with every interaction, embodying our commitment to care and compassion
Qualifications and Requirements
To succeed in this role, you'll need a strong foundation in pharmacy operations, as well as excellent communication and customer service skills. We're looking for candidates who are not only qualified but also passionate about delivering exceptional care and support.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
- Active and unrestricted State NHA CpHT license OR Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician Certification via EXCPT or PTCB without restrictions (or ability to obtain prior to start date)
- 2+ years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician, with a strong understanding of pharmacy operations and procedures
- Currently reside within Illinois or Iowa, with the ability to work remotely
- Ability to work Monday - Friday between the hours of 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM CST (40 hours per week)
Preferred Qualifications
- Patient experience, with a strong understanding of the needs and concerns of patients and members
- Call-center or telephonic work experience, with a proven track record of delivering exceptional customer service
- Familiarity with UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy, with the ability to adhere to its guidelines and requirements
