We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Scientist to join the Jonas Lab in the Division of Hematology/Oncology at the David Geffen School of Medicine, UCLA. As a key member of our interdisciplinary research team, you will contribute to the development of innovative nanotechnology-enabled methods for childhood cancer and regenerative medicine research. This is an exceptional opportunity to work at the interface of nanoscience and regenerative medicine, driving the discovery and implementation of gene and cellular therapeutic approaches and precision-medicine-based diagnostic strategies.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will have a strong background in bioengineering, materials science, or cell and gene therapy development, with a desire to grow as an early-stage investigator, mentor trainees, and transition to scientific independence. You will be responsible for leading and coordinating project activities, overseeing the development of technology platforms, and contributing to multiple collaborative projects. Your expertise will be essential in establishing rapid, safe, and efficient intracellular delivery methods for genes and genome-editing machinery, designing inhalable nanocarrier systems, and developing microfluidic liquid biopsy technologies.
