Underwriter I (Loss Mitigation) Overview The Loss Mitigation Underwriter is responsible for assessing financial information and documentation to decide on solutions for delinquent mortgage accounts in accordance with investor guidelines and standards. They will evaluate risk, collaborate with investors, and maintain loan portfolios while ensuring compliance with regulatory deadlines. Skill Requirements Must-Have: • Experience in Underwriting loss mitigation applications. • Proficiency in working with investor guidelines such as those from FNMA/FHLMC/FHA/VA/USDA. • Strong ability in analyzing borrower financial statements and assessing risk. • Knowledge of federal regulations including those from the CFPB/FCRA/FDCPA. Preferred: • Familiarity with document retention software like Blitzdoc/ICE. Top performers are fast learners, strong team players, and committed to accuracy and inclusiveness.
