This role is responsible for performing complex accounting and financial analysis functions to support the organization’s financial operations and reporting requirements, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial statements.
Responsibilities
- Perform complex accounting activities, reconciliations, and financial analyses to support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial statements and related accounting records
- Prepare and review account reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies as needed
- Conduct variance analyses and provide insights into financial performance and operational trends
- Retrieve and analyze financial data from ERP systems and business intelligence platforms
- Support hospital financial management and administration through reporting and analytical support
- Recommend improvements to accounting processes, systems, and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Provide guidance and training to accounting staff on accounting practices and procedures
- Assist with audits, compliance requirements, and special financial projects
- Utilize accounting software and tools including EPIC, Lawson, and BlackLine to support financial operations
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Five (5) to seven (7) years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience with financial reporting, reconciliations, and variance analysis
- Experience working with ERP systems and business intelligence tools
- Advanced financial accounting and reporting skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas, and macros
- Strong data analysis and financial modeling capabilities
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
- Familiarity with healthcare accounting practices and financial processes
- Understanding of ERP systems and business intelligence reporting tools
- Knowledge of accounting controls, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
- Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Experience in healthcare accounting or large organizational accounting environments
- CPA designation
- Experience with EPIC Cash Reconciliation, Lawson, and BlackLine
