Job Overview:

As a Patient Transporter, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and timely transportation of patients, medical equipment, and patient-related items within the hospital. Key Responsibilities:
- Transport patients, medical equipment, and patient-related items to their destinations in a safe, timely, and accurate manner
- Properly secure patients, IVs, drainage tubes, and other medical equipment during transport
- Utilize wheelchairs and other approved rolling stock to carry out essential duties
- Demonstrate competency in transporting patients of all age groups
- Communicate effectively with nursing personnel, clinicians, technicians, and reception and dispatch staff
- Ensure patient comfort and safety during transport, and alert nursing staff to any signs of patient distress or equipment malfunction
- Maintain equipment and report any repairs needed
- Comply with regulatory agency standards, including federal, state, and JCAHO
- Adhere to facility confidentiality and patient's rights policy as outlined in the facility's HIPAA policies and procedures
